Chapter 214: Battle Between the Giants
Chapter 214: Battle Between the Giants
The darkness covered the world like a shawl, and the cold wind blew on the street—and amidst the trees—in the Vrilas. The moons travelled in the sky like a two lovers who were destined to remain apart for all eternity. People wouldn’t even need the streetlights to see clearly—though they spread their light, anyway.
Suddenly, two figures burst into the sky and stood a hundred meters above from the ground. One of them had a pair of fire-wings burning behind his back while his opponent—the woman—had wings of ice. Her cold and unfeeling blue eyes stared at the man, her white hair reaching to her butt and her slim waist was enough to captivate the heart of any man.
However, at this moment, her opponent—the old man—had a troubled look on his face. He had never anticipated that he’d infuriate a bee hornet when he sent that stupid boy to the brothel to make a trouble.
"Look, Aleera," said the old man. His red hair and beard rustled in the misty wind—occasionally fire burned on his body. He continued, "You also know that we could not reach any conclusion like this. Let’s sit and talk it through."
"You also know how to talk, old man Yanthus?" sneered Aleera, her face cold as ever. From time to time, icicles fell off of her body. "Today I’ll let you know that you can’t harm my people and act as if nothing happened."
She waved her hand, and a sceptre formed out of thin air, made of ice, of course. Then she struck. Yanthus frowned in annoyance, his temper rising. He wanted to end this without a fuss. But he never envisioned Aleera would be so hostile against him for just a lowly whore in one of her brothel.
His eyes turned cold and then he shouted—suddenly, a fire dragon burst out of his body, meeting Aleera’s sceptre.
The intense waves spread around, destroying the trees and streetlights. There was no house at this place; otherwise, it would have definitely caused more than a few casualties. It was a taboo for an elder of World Magic Alliance to hurt ordinary people. That’s why the duo had already moved away.
"Don’t be so arrogant, girl," snarled Yanthus as he tumbled back in the air, but blocked Aleera’s attack successfully. "Don’t think I’m weak just because I restrain myself from attacking."
"Oh, you restrain yourself, old bastard Yanthus?" scowled Aleera, her fury reaching a crescendo. How could someone as hypocrite as he exists in this world? "How did a shameless bastard like you become an elder of the World Magic Alliance?"
"You!" Yanthus gritted his teeth and then said, "Alright, alright. You want to fight? Then let’s fight!"
His eyes turned crimson and fire burst out of his entire body. He stood on the head of the fire dragon and eyed Aleera like a king. "Come, I will let you see the difference between our strength."
Aleera curled her lips disdainfully, however, and suddenly vanished. "Huh?" Yanthus exclaimed and then his eyes widened to the point of popping out—because Aleera had appeared in front of him. "Space Element?" he stammered. Nonetheless, when he saw Aleera was about to grab his neck, he retreated, avoiding her attack at the last moment.
Yanthus eyed Aleera and cold sweat gathered behind his back when he remembered the moment of danger just now. "No wonder you are so confident, girl," he said, a little shaken. "You have dual elemental talent. Ice and Space. Such a weird and deadly combo."
"You haven’t seen half of my talent, old man." Aleera sneered. "If I see you—or your people—making things difficult for my people, I won’t let it slide so easily next time."
Then she turned and vanished, leaving Yanthus behind trembling in anger and indignant.
"Ah, well," said a voice somewhere in the space. "Though I’m a bit disappointed that it ended like this, all in all, it was an entertaining battle."
"You won’t be satisfied until you see the world burning," another voice said.
"Well, just wait a year or so, and you will see the world burning as well," said the third voice.
And after that, it was silent. No one spoke.

The day began like always, with orange and red and violet sun rays—and with the pleasant chirping of birds—but today, as soon as they opened the shop, the customers poured inside. There were around twenty people—all Demi-humans. Kadyn was confused at first, but then he spotted Gelna and fox sisters waving towards him. He realised that they had brought all these customers here. He nodded gratefully.
Soon, the entire hall was filled with pleasant exclamations. All of them were stunned to find such a wide variety of artefacts and potions. Furthermore, the price wasn’t as exaggerated as the price of Elven Potions. Some of them even started cursing Elven Potion for being too greedy. However, previously, they had no choice but to buy the potions from them, as no other decent potion business existed in Vrilas.
That’s why as soon as they saw the products, they burst into cheers.
Every one of them found something to buy. There were all kinds of artefacts and potions. Then Kadyn called Gelna and fox-sisters and then gave each of them a potion that he had personally concocted. With these, they would easily be able to pass the competition they were about to attend.
At first they refused, but after Kadyn insisted, they thanked him before receiving the potions.
Not long after Gelna and her party left, the next group of people appeared. After inquiring, Kadyn realised they had come after seeing the flyers which he distributed, previously, in the Dewhurst. He had written a few prices of potions and artefacts in the flyers as well. Not many could resist after looking at that price.
Though some of them had doubts at the start, but as soon as they entered the shop, every doubt vanished like horns on a donkey’s head.
