Chapter 407 - 381: Aurora Has Stopped Breathing
Chapter 407 - 381: Aurora Has Stopped Breathing
A Basic Supervisor sitting in the back row suddenly spoke up. "What identity?"
Howard Yamada glanced at him and said coolly, "The Yamada Clan are descendants of a Martial God, and we have a unique, inherited gift. Yet she somehow possesses our clan’s abilities. I don’t need to spell out what that implies, do I... Regulator?"
The Basic Supervisor stared at him for a moment. "Are you saying your clan truly doesn’t know how she obtained your inheritance?"
Howard Yamada’s brow furrowed slightly. "What are you implying? My clan has been in seclusion for millennia. We don’t meddle in the affairs of the outside world..."
"But what about the Super Soldier from forty years ago...?"
"As I recall, I told you forty years ago that a woman from our clan betrayed us and fled."
The Basic Supervisor was left speechless, seething inwardly.
’This Yamada Clan is so audacious. Do they really think they’re as powerful as they were back when they had a Martial God in their ranks?’
He glanced at Alaric Winslow beside him. Seeing no sign of anger on the man’s face, he had no choice but to swallow his own frustration.
Just then, Alaric Winslow, who had been sitting in the very back, stood up and asked calmly, "May I have a look around?"
Howard Yamada froze. ’This man is so striking. Why didn’t I notice him before?’
’I can’t even sense the aura of a High Rank Martial Cultivator on him.’
Wariness crept into his eyes. "You may. However, our clan has many taboos, so please allow one of my clansmen to guide you."
"Alright."

Alaric Winslow followed a member of the Yamada Clan in a specific direction.
"Sir, we can’t go any further."
"Was there a fight up ahead?"
Alaric Winslow asked in surprise. He could feel the lingering Power of Heaven and Earth.
’This power is immense. It’s at least at the level of a Martial Lord.’
’Could someone from the Holy Mountain have been here?’
"It was the descendant of that Super Soldier. She’s the one who brought this ruin upon our clan," the Yamada clansman said, his face etched with anger.
A gleam appeared in Alaric Winslow’s eyes, and he continued walking forward.
"Sir..."
"It’s fine. I’m just going to take a look."
The two rounded a bend and finally saw the expanse of ruins.
Alaric Winslow took a few more steps, stopping at the edge of the ruins. He suddenly closed his eyes, sensing the residual Power of Heaven and Earth.
’This Super Soldier hasn’t fully grasped the principles of the Power of Heaven and Earth. That’s why she left such a glaring opening.’
His eyes snapped open. He glanced in a specific direction, and his body shot off toward it with incredible speed.
"Sir...!"
The Yamada clansman turned pale with shock, for the man had already vanished without a trace.

Beside a large rock, the red light on a square-shaped suitcase flickered and turned green.
"Warning! Proximity alert. Activating scan mode."
"Gender characteristics: Male."
"Age assessment: 32 years."
"Threat level: Extremely dangerous."
"Activating level-one defensive mode."
Alaric Winslow paused and chuckled. "Found you."
"Warning! You have entered firing range. Halt immediately! Warning! You have entered firing range..."
A beam of red light shot past Alaric Winslow, piercing straight through a thick tree trunk.
The thunderous crash of the falling tree made Alaric Winslow stop. He glanced back at the toppled tree, then turned his curious gaze to the strange object.
’Is this an Automaton?’
Ditto Miles’s frame suddenly extended, growing taller and completely shielding the girl on the rock behind it.
"Warning! Step back—"
Alaric Winslow tentatively edged forward, but the red beam fired at him again.
Another large tree crashed to the ground.
Alaric Winslow retreated a few steps with a sense of resignation.
The Automaton’s arm, the one that fired the red beam, slowly lowered.
He leaped up, landing on a thick tree branch, and looked down at the girl on the rock.
’Her life force is already faint. If she doesn’t receive treatment soon, she’ll most likely die.’
’The only thing sustaining her right now is that lingering Power of Heaven and Earth.’
’Once that power completely dissipates, her death is certain.’
’But that Automaton’s beam is powerful and incredibly fast. It looks like I’ll have to deal with it first.’
Just as Alaric Winslow raised his hand to project his Power Domain, the Automaton suddenly stirred.
The screen on its head changed to a smiley face, and it spoke again. "Master, Papa is here..."
An instant later, a man’s face appeared on its screen. "Aurora..."
Ditto Miles quickly turned to the girl on the rock, transmitting a live image of her condition to Alvin Morgan.
Alvin Morgan’s eyes flew open, his body trembling slightly. "What’s her condition? Beta Morgan, how much longer until we get there?"
"Sir, we’re just rounding the mountain now! Faster—"
A glint appeared in Alaric Winslow’s impassive eyes, and he suddenly called out, "I can help her."
The unfamiliar male voice made Alvin Morgan freeze. A moment later, a long-haired man in a black uniform appeared on the screen.
Alvin Morgan recognized the uniform of the Martial Affairs Bureau. His gaze sharpened. "Who are you?"
Alaric Winslow leaped down from the branch, his expression calm as he replied, "Alaric Winslow."
Alvin Morgan’s grip on the tablet tightened. ’One of the directors of the International Martial Arts Bureau is named Winslow.’
’They found her after all. And they got here faster than I did!’
"How do you plan to handle the matter of the incapacitated Basic Supervisor?" Alvin Morgan asked.
Alaric Winslow was slightly surprised that he knew. "How did you find out about that?"
"My last name is Morgan."
Alaric Winslow mulled it over for a moment. ’The Morgans?’
’Veridia’s foremost Great Family, possessing weapons capable of destroying the entire planet.’
’Before he left, his master had specifically warned him: whatever you do, do not get into a conflict with the Morgans.’
After a moment’s thought, Alaric Winslow said plainly, "The matter is still under investigation."
Alvin Morgan looked at the scan data Ditto Miles had sent him. ’He’s only thirty-two?’ he thought, shocked.
’The Winslow from the International Martial Arts Bureau is definitely not this young.’
’Is he not with the Bureau, then?’
"Sir, we’re here. There are people from the Martial Affairs Bureau."
Alvin Morgan looked ahead. Sure enough, several black cars were parked there, with fully-armed personnel standing guard at the entrance.
"Tell your people to let us in."
Alaric Winslow considered for a moment, then calmly said, loud enough for those outside to hear, "Let them in."
His voice wasn’t loud, yet it reached the ears of everyone for miles around.
Howard Yamada and Elias Lennox’s faces paled.
’That was the voice of the Regulator who ran off.’
Upon hearing the voice, the Basic Supervisor immediately stood up and headed in the direction it came from.
When the other two saw this, they followed right behind him.
’I can’t believe he went into the dense forest on the back mountain.’
’That’s where we bury our ancestors. It’s forbidden ground for our clan.’
’Besides, the forest is vast. It’s easy to get lost if you go too deep.’
"Bring the Morgans in."
The Basic Supervisor stopped and bowed respectfully in the direction of the voice.
As soon as Elias Lennox heard "the Morgans," he instantly thought of Alvin Morgan, and his expression darkened.
’It seems his junior is in this forest.’

After scanning Alvin Morgan, Ditto Miles’s mechanical arm retracted.
"Papa detected. Deactivating level-one defensive mode."
"Aurora—"
Under the watchful eyes of the others, Alvin Morgan rushed to the rock and stared at the blood-soaked girl lying upon it.
He felt his blood run cold. His chest felt as if it were being torn apart, the pain so intense he could hardly breathe.
"Aurora..."
Beta Morgan hurried forward with a medical kit. After checking her vitals, his eyes widened in disbelief.
His hand, holding a stethoscope, trembled slightly. Tears instantly welled in his eyes as he choked out the words, "Sir... Aurora... she’s... she’s not breathing..."
