Chapter 493: Two Months
Chapter 493: Two Months
The old man nodded, "Since I’ve come, I certainly want you to take a look."
The old man having said this, Jiang Ran naturally had nothing more to add.
Jiang Ran led the old man to sit down and took out a diagnostic tool, instructing the old man to place his hand on it.
The room immediately became quiet, with Jiang Ran lowering his gaze, focusing on the old man’s hand.
Meanwhile, the old man and the girl beside him were entirely focused on Jiang Ran.
However, with Jiang Ran not speaking, the two of them dared not speak either.
After checking for a while, Jiang Ran looked up and gave the old man a smile.
"You don’t really need to be too tense, just treat it like a regular doctor’s visit."
Being overly nervous can affect your pulse.
Upon hearing Jiang Ran’s words, the old man also smiled.
"I didn’t expect that after living for more than half my life, I’d feel nervous at this moment. It seems people indeed fear death. I used to think I would be an exception, but I find myself the same now."
The girl beside him frowned displeasedly upon hearing his words, "Why talk about life and death out of the blue? It’s not auspicious at all."
Jiang Ran nodded in agreement, "Although older people often say they’re not superstitious, there are times when such words, if they can be avoided, should be. It’s not really about superstition, but such words, once spoken, can affect one’s mindset, and thereby influence one’s attitude."
This explanation was clearly not what the old man expected.
The old man first gave Jiang Ran a look of surprise, then nodded.
"You’re right."
During their conversation, the old man hadn’t even noticed that he was gradually relaxing.
Although Jiang Ran kept talking to him, his hand never left the old man’s wrist and continued to read his pulse carefully.
Seeing him relax, Jiang Ran refrained from speaking further.
Although the room quieted down once more, the previously tense atmosphere was evidently gone.
As time gradually passed, the girl became tense again.
However, probably due to the earlier conversation, she no longer doubted Jiang Ran as she did before.
Now, while her gaze towards Jiang Ran was still tinged with nervousness, it held more of an expectant hope.
Although Jiang Ran did not appear much older than her, and indeed wasn’t, after their earlier dialogue, the girl felt that Jiang Ran seemed much more mature and steady, perhaps truly possessing the ability.
As she was thinking this, she saw Jiang Ran withdraw his hand.
As soon as Jiang Ran withdrew his hand, the girl eagerly spoke up.
"How is it, how is he? How’s my grandfather?"
Jiang Ran’s expression was solemn, "His health is indeed not very good, but it hasn’t reached a life-threatening stage. As long as he’s willing to trust me and come here for treatment, acupuncture daily, assisted by herbal medicine, he should show improvement in three to five days, feel significantly better in half a month, and if he wants to fully recuperate, it will take at least two months."
"Two months?"
Seeing the girl’s expression, Jiang Ran was a bit helpless, "Although two months sounds long, it really isn’t..."
Before Jiang Ran could finish explaining, the girl shook her head vigorously.
"No, no, you’re misunderstanding me. I don’t think two months is long at all; it’s just... can you really cure my grandfather in two months?"
